“Die (Gemütliche) Unheimlichkeit”
morpho-logical study

installation, ceramics, 2017–2019

“The uncanny (Unheimlichkeit) is that which should have been hidden, but revealed itself” — Sigmund Freud uses this quote from Friedrich Schelling in his 1919 article “Uncanny”. The constellation “Violet and Throat, Oyster mushroom and Vagina” reveals itself in a wave-like whirlwind of aggressive decorativeness and conveys morpho-logical greetings to Olga Rapay's library fountain and Judy Chicago's dinner party. It also sends congratulations to the centenary of the jubilee of the term Unheimlichkeit (Uncanny) inviting it to also discover the hidden Cozy (Gemütliche).
