Uncontrolled area

installation, prints, readymades, 2012

A signature is an oasis of emotional spontaneity in the bureaucratic mechanism. This is an illustration of the “human factor” in the avaricious functionality of the system and the place of individuality in social roles (service worker). The exhibits are divided into two groups: 1) a collection of “cleanliness  control sheets”*; 2) prints of calligraphic compositions based on the signatures of service workers.

*documents are used to control the cleanliness in the bathrooms of fast foods and cafes, in which authorized employees sign in every hour, but their handwriting changes and the columns of signatures turn into calligraphic composition.
